A distributor is the logistic arm of the manufacturer. A distributor will purchase the product direct from the manufacturer and takes possession of the product. A distributor will then add value to the product by combining it with merchandising service and bundling it with other products to deliver it to the retail location. A distributor will typically purchase large quantities of product then distribute smaller quantities to the retail location. Distributors deliver just what the Retailer needs in their specific location.
